Passing Discounts on to Retailer Partners

Zelph now gives suppliers full control over whether or not to pass sale pricing on to retailer partners.

If you run temporary sales or price reductions in Shopify (or directly in Zelph), you can choose whether those discounted prices are reflected in the retailer's storefront — or if retailers should continue displaying the standard pricing instead.

⚙️ Where to Find the Setting

Go to:

Settings > Supplier Settings

You’ll see a section labelled “Sync product sales” with two options:

  1. ✅ Sync your sale prices to retailers

→ Your sale price will automatically be pushed to all retailers using your product

→ Retailers will show the discounted price in their stores

  2. 🚫 Don’t sync your sale price, instead your compare-at-price will be applied

→ Retailers will continue to sell your product at full price

→ The lower sale price will be used as the compare-at-price (displayed as a markdown)

🧠 How It Works

Let’s say you have a product with:

  • Original cost price: £100
  • Sale price: £80 (via Shopify or Zelph)

Depending on your setting:

Option Retailer Sees In Their Store
✅ Sync sale prices £80 Listed at £80
🚫 Don't sync sale price £100 (compare: £80) Listed as “£100 → now £80”

🧾 Zelph handles the sync and updates automatically across all connected retailers and their Shopify stores.

🔒 Why It Matters

This setting gives you flexibility to:

  • Run supplier-only promotions (e.g. B2C sale without affecting B2B partners)
  • Choose whether your retailers benefit from discounts you're running
  • Maintain consistent margin expectations for your retailers

You can change this setting at any time. It will apply globally to all products and all retailer relationships going forward.

✅ Best Practices

  • Use “Sync sale prices” when you want to empower your retailers to run your promotion at the same price
  • Use “Don't sync sale prices” when your sales are intended for direct customers only, or when you want your retailers to control how promotions are presented (e.g. with markdown styling)

🔧 Coming Soon

We’re exploring future enhancements like:

  • Product-level discount sync settings
  • Temporary overrides for flash sales
  • Automated expiry of retailer markdowns after your promotion ends
