How Order Fulfilment Works for Retailers in Zelph

Zelph’s fulfilment process is designed to make drop-shipping seamless. Orders are automatically tagged, routed, and synced to ensure a smooth, reliable flow from purchase to delivery.

This article explains how order fulfilment works specifically for retailers.

🛍 Retailer Orders: How They Work

When a customer places an order in your Shopify store that includes a supplier’s product via Zelph:

  • The order appears in your normal Shopify orders queue.
  • It’s automatically tagged with:
    • Zelph Supplier — a flat tag for filtering all Zelph-routed orders
    • Zelph Supplier: <supplier name> — identifies which supplier the item came from

🏷️ You can filter your Shopify orders queue by either tag to quickly find Zelph orders.

🔍 Where to Find Order & Supplier Info

Open the order in your Zelph Orders page to see:

  • The supplier’s name
  • The supplier’s order number (their reference for the matching order in their Shopify)
  • The fulfilment and tracking status as updates come in

This helps you track fulfilment progress without needing to chase your supplier directly.

🚚 How Fulfilment Works

  1. The supplier receives the order. Zelph creates a matching order in the supplier’s Shopify and sends them all the details they need, including the customer’s shipping information.
  2. The supplier ships the order. They fulfil using their usual method (courier, warehouse, etc.) and add tracking — either directly in their Shopify or through Zelph.
  3. Tracking info syncs back to you. Once the supplier fulfils:
    • Your Shopify order is marked as fulfilled
    • The tracking number and courier link appear on the order
    • Your customer is notified through Shopify’s normal flow

✅ The customer experiences a seamless delivery process — no matter who the supplier is.

🔄 What If I Have Multiple Suppliers?

Each line item in an order is matched to its supplier individually, and Zelph routes fulfilment and tracking per line. This means:

  • You can sell products from multiple suppliers in one cart.
  • Each supplier handles their part of the order.
  • Customers still get unified order tracking in Shopify.

🔐 Data Sharing & Privacy

Only the minimum necessary customer data (name, shipping address, contact details) is shared with suppliers — strictly for the purpose of fulfilling the order.
