Drafting a proposal
Proposals in Zelph are concise agreements that outline which Supplier products you wish to sell and the terms of the partnership. Suppliers can review and negotiate these terms before approval.
Inbox Tab
Navigate to Inbox > Proposals to view all your proposal negotiations. You can filter proposals by status: approved, pending, or those requiring your action, indicated by a 'Your Turn' badge. Within each proposal, you'll find current and past versions, with differences highlighted in the latest version. You can also message your partner directly within the proposal thread. Both Suppliers and Retailers receive email notifications about proposal changes or messages.
Proposal Overview
A proposal comprises three key components:
- Products & Commission: Retailers can propose any products listed by Suppliers on Zelph. While it's recommended to use the Supplier's default commission, you can suggest a different rate.
- Shipping: Zelph recommends selecting "Supplier's shipping rate," which uses the Supplier's default settings. If unavailable, consider a "Fixed rate per order," with an average rate around £4.70.
- Promotional Details: Specify how, when, and where you plan to market the Supplier's products.
Proposal Workflow
- Retailer Sends Proposal: The Supplier receives an email notification upon proposal submission.
- Supplier Reviews Proposal: The Supplier can Approve, Counter, or Decline the proposal.
- Negotiation: If the Supplier counters with changes (e.g., different commission, product selection, or shipping terms), the Retailer can Approve, Counter, or Decline the revised proposal.
- Agreement: Once both parties agree on the terms, the Retailer can add the approved products to their store and commence sales.
Note on Commissions
It's advisable for Retailers to request a commission exceeding 15% to maintain profitability with Zelph. Consider fees and payment processing costs when setting commissions. Payment processing fees vary by method:
- Credit Card: 2.5% + £0.30 per transaction
- Bank Transfer: 0.4% transaction fee
Bulk Proposals
To efficiently reach out to multiple brands:
- Access Discover List: In the Zelph app, go to the "Discover" section to find a curated list of potential partners.
- Select Brands: Browse and select brands of interest, using filters to refine your search by product categories, brand values, or other criteria.
- Send Proposals: After selection, click the "Send Proposal" button to customise your message and terms for all chosen brands.
- Review and Dispatch: Ensure all details are correct, then click "Send" to submit your proposals.
This streamlined process allows you to engage multiple brands simultaneously, awaiting their responses.
